Miracle From Heaven is an American film genre
Christian drama produced by Tri Star Pictures and released on March 18 2016
with a duration of 110 minutes. This film was adapted from a book called
"Three Miracle From Heaven; A Sick Little Girl, Her Journey to Heaven and
the book The Last Forever Changed "by Christy Beam which is based on a
true story. Miracle From Heaven was directed by Patricia Riggen and the script
was written by Randy Brown. The film is played by Jennifer Garner as Christy
Beam, Kylie Rogers as Anna Beam, Martin Henderson as Kevin Beam, Eugenio Derbez
as Dr. Nurko, Brighton Sharbino as Abbie Beam, Courtney Fansler as Adelyn Beam.
In this film, it tells the story of a 10-year-old boy
named Anna who was sentenced by a doctor to have a deadly disease in an
incurable indigestion, Christy Beam as a mother and her husband (Kevin Beam)
have done their best to cure the princess and one day Anna and her sister had
an accident that fell from a tree that was quite high, but what happened to a
miracle the accident actually cure Anna's illness.
Interpretation
Starting from Anna who suddenly experienced a severe
stomach ache. Almost every day he screamed in pain. Some diagnose rising
stomach acid and other trivial diseases that are not too dangerous. His mother,
who felt very familiar with the flesh and blood, was convinced that Anna's
illness was not just a minor illness. He continued to look for a diagnosis from
several doctors until it was found that Anna had a rare disease related to the
intestine. Anna began treatment in various ways. However, Anna is not sentenced
to be cured.
Luckily Anna has a mother who doesn't give up. Christy
Beam is a mother who does not give up on a doctor's diagnosis. One time, a
friend of Christy Beam told Christy Beam that a well-known children's hospital
can cure children's illness and the service there was very good. Christy Beam
also tried to bring his child to the hospital and needed a large fee because he
had to go home to the hospital. While at the Boston hospital, Anna carried out
so many treatments.
Anna finally decided to go home and run the days as
usual. One time Anna's sister invited Anna to play ball and her brother saw a
butterfly that was so beautiful perched on a tree. Then, her sister invited
Anna to catch the butterfly and Anna decided to climb the big tree with her
sister. Suddenly the branch occupied by them almost broke, his brother tried to
save Anna but Anna fell in a deep tree hole. His sister told his mother and
immediately sought help so that Anna could be removed from the tree hole.
During Anna's day in the hole, they prayed together so Anna could survive the
accident. Until finally, Anna can be removed from the deep tree hole.
After recovering, Anna told her family that while
inside the tree hole, Anna's spirit came out of her body and saw the butterfly
and then she held it suddenly the butterfly turned into a light that was so
bright. Until finally Anna was in a beautiful place that she thought was heaven
and met God. From there Anna discovered a miracle that made her recover without
having to return to the hospital.
In this film it has a moral message that our hardest
trust is tested when dealing with severe problems even though we are devout
people. Therefore, do not give up and despair, believing that the miracle of
God works wonderfully in our lives as Christy Beam did without knowing so many
good people who helped him in healing his extraordinary child.
Another meaning in this film is never giving up in
various trials that God gives, patience in facing a life full of obstacles and
challenges by not easily abstaining and not despairing believing that God will
give miracles for us.
This film is very suitable to be watched by all people
because this film is very touching faith for religious people (not just
Christians) if only judging from the story as a whole.
Evaluation
Films based on real stories always have their own
charms. Curiosity is sure to be the first motivation of the audience to watch
the film Miracle from Heaven. This film became interesting because two
consecutive weeks ranked in the top five in the North American box office, only
one rank below the best-selling animation "Zootopia". The character
of Jennifer Garner and Kylie Rogers in the film Miracle From Heaven is very
animating in their role.
The film also has several shortcomings which are
located in Queen Latifah's acting talents who act as Angela's less explored. At
first, considering this film was about miracles, I thought there would be a
miracle displayed through Angela's character. But it turns out he is only the character
that was raised when Anna was in Boston and after Anna returned home, he was
not raised again.
The Miracle From Heaven film also received several
awards including the "Teen Choice Awards" in the Movie-Drama Choice
category and in the Movie Actress Choice category: The drama that was obtained
by Jennifer Garner.
Summary
The film "Miracle from Heaven" revolves
around a miracle that happened to a family where one of his daughters recovered
from a malignant disease which according to doctors could not be cured. Overall
the film teaches about the importance of trust and how it can break the
impossibility. Therefore, do not give up and despair, believing that God's
miracle works wonderfully in our lives. So, this film is worth watching by all
those who are suffering from severe problems, this film will effectively invite
us to continue to believe that miracles are real.
